Nawrocki - These girls are putting heart into the game

"Every victory is important at this level" said Poland's head coach Jacek Nawrocki

Włocławek, Poland, June 10, 2016 - Poland defeated Argentina 3-2 (25-23, 24-26, 25-15, 23-25, 15-10) in their first match of the second World Grand Prix weekend in Poland. Coach Jacek Nawrocki commended his team’s fighting spirit.

Jacek Nawrocki, Poland, Coach: We are on the level where every victory is important for us. In this edition of World Grand Prix there are no opponents against whom we could count on three points before the game starts. I am satisfied with the way we fought. My girls showed many times the highest level of their mental side and they are putting heart into the game. The endings today were a bit insecure, but this was the second game we played tight and I think that in every next match it will be better.

Guillermo Orduna, Aregentina, Coach: For Argentina it was an important match. We played more focused than last weekend. We improved our reception during the game, which was hard. Today our attack was very good and I am happy about that. In the next match the experience from today can be very important and is also worthy as a preparation before the Olympic Games.

Joanna Wolosz, Poland, captain: Our coach says that we need to fight. I also think that we have to play aggressively and we are trying to do it with our team, all girls did their best. I as a captain, setter and a player with bigger experience must show other girls that we have to fight for every point and that we must do our maximum in each moment of game. I think that we did it, we are good in defence and we fight.

Julieta Lazcano, Argentina: It was a tough match, we didn’t play our game and we really can play much better. Poland played good, but there were many things that we could improve from our side. Tomorrow we need to try and play more concentrated and make less mistakes.
