Bulgaria defeats Argentina in World Grand Prix warm-up

 

Bulgaria overcame Argentina 3-0

 Olavarria, Argentina, May 28, 2016 – The Argentine women’s team started their very demanding international season with a training game against Bulgaria on Friday as they prepare for the FIVB World Grand Prix and the Olympic Games.

Bulgaria won the match 3-0 (25-15, 25-21, 25-14).

Despite the loss, the fans cheered the local team on and it was a tough match against a very powerful European team who made almost no mistakes. 

Next week, Argentina will host Kenya, the Dominican Republic and Bulgaria in their opening matches of the World Grand Prix in Tucuman.
 
The city of Olavarria welcomed Las Panteras warmly. On Thursday, there was a Press Conference attended by team members together with Hilario Galli, Olavarria City Hall Under Secretary of Public Resources; Miriam Mosescu, President of Olavarria Volleyball Association; and Eduardo Pugnaloni, Estudiantes Club President. 

Later in the day, Guillermo Orduna and all his coaching team gave a lecture for coaches and physical education teachers before ending the day with an open training session in front of local fans and the media.

On Friday, Las Panteras participated in a clinic with the students of Educación Tecnica No. 2 Luciano Fortabat School before heading off for training and their match against Bulgaria.

Now the team will move to Jujuy, where on Sunday and Monday they will face friendly matches against Kenya and Bulgaria, respectively.
