Rio de Janeiro to host 2016 World Grand Prix Pool B1

 

Rio de Janeiro will host Pool B1 of the 2016 edition of the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix

Lausanne, Switzerland, December 8, 2015 - The venue for Pool B1 of the 2016 FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix has been confirmed as Rio de Janeiro. The Brazilian city will also host Pool B1 of the 2016 edition of the FIVB Volleyball World League.

World Grand Prix Pool B1 will be played Thursday, Friday and Sunday, June 9, 10 and 12. Brazil's women's team will take on Italy at 14.10 local time on Thursday, before Japan and Serbia play at 16.30. Brazil will then play Japan on Friday and Serbia on Sunday.

The first match in Pool B1 of the 2016 edition of the World League will also take place in Rio de Janeiro when Brazil play Iran at 14.10 local time on Thursday, June 16. That match will be followed by an encounter between USA and Argentina at 16.30. Brazil will play Argentina on Friday, June 17 and USA on Sunday, June 19.
