Bonitta: Netherlands one of the strongest teams at the service line

Netherlands showed a powerful serve, putting pressure on Italy

Bari, Italy, June 18, 2016 - Despite the loss to Netherlands, Italy's coach Marco Bonitta finds perks of the match and praises his team for certain parts of the game. both Bonitta and Netherlands' setter Laura Dijkema agree that the Dutch serve was the key to the victory.

Marco Bonitta, coach of Italy: “I think that was a “good" defeat for us. It means that my team play two good sets at the beginning of the match, but has not a fixed rhythm and is not lucid in the most important moments of the match.

The Netherlands is one of the strongest teams at the service line and tonight we saw it. I’m not completely satisfied, but our attack was good. I am convinced that Ortolani will continue playing as wing spiker; for us is very important because we have a lot of opposites”.

Laura Dijkema, setter of Netherlands: “A victory against the Italian team is very important for us, it means that our team is competitive. We want the Final Six, I think that our service makes the difference in this match. The qualification to the Olympic Games gave us an important awareness”.
