Bangkok preparing for world's best

 

Bangkok, Thailand, June 29, 2016 – The FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix Group 1 Finals begin in under a week in Bangkok, Thailand and the organisers have promised a fitting finale to the 2016 edition of the tournament when it begins at the Hua Mark Indoor Stadium in Bangkok.


Mr Somporn Chaibangyang, president of the Thailand Volleyball Association was present alongside Dhospaak’s managing director Mr Anuchat Piroontanapaisarn, Surin Krittayapongphan, deputy managing director and acting director of BEC, Jesadakorn Ghosh, vice president of Thai Drinks and Siam Commercial Bank’s Executive Vice President Miss Soramon Inkatanuvatana.

“All preparation tasks are almost 100 per cent complete ahead of the inspection by the FIVB officials on July 2,” Mr Chaibangyang said. “In terms of the competition, the top five teams from the three-week preliminaries have completed the line-up for the Bangkok Finals. The USA, China, Russia, Brazil and the Netherlands will now join hosts Thailand to be pitted in the five-day showcase.”

Aside from unveiling the generous sponsors of the Finals, the tournament’s rabbit-like mascot named “Nong Yindee” was also presented. The rabbit represents the Year of the Rabbit, the year in which HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand was born. This is a way for Thai people from all walks of life to show their loyalty to their much-beloved monarch. The mascot was named “Yindee” (meaning Delighted) to mark the Thai people’s great delight at hosting the star-studded Finals.

Mr Anuchat revealed that Dhospaak will be responsible for all marketing activities related to the Finals while Soramon also expressed her confidence that by hosting the world-class competition, Thai fans have an opportunity to watch one of the most popular tournaments in the country.

TV Channel 3 will act as the host broadcaster with all Thai matches set to be shown live on Channel 3HD (Channel 33), while the other matches will also be brought for live broadcast on Channel 3SD (Channel 28). Jesadakorn added that Thai Drinks and Est Cola are proud to support the tournament as the Presenting Sponsor adding that despite the fact all tickets were sold out in the first five minutes after lines opened on May 23, the giant LED screen with live broadcast signals will also be set up in front of Hua Mark Indoor Stadium to serve for those who could not get tickets as well as fun activities and entertainment booths.
