Italy's Egonu scored 18 points in her team's win over Belgium

Ankara, Turkey, June 26, 2016 – Italy eased past Belgium 3-0 (25-14, 25-12, 25-21) in the FIVB World Grand Prix in Ankara on Sunday.
 
The win was Italy's second in Pool H playing in Ankara this weekend.


In the first set, both teams started aggressively on offense. Belgium could not stop Italy's attack at the beginning of the set. Italy was leading 8-4 at the first technical time-out. After the technical time out, İtaly dominated with effective services and took a six-point lead at the second technical time-out. Belguim couldn’t respond to Italy’s attack and Italy won the first set 25 to 14. 

In the second set, Italy quickly took over in the offense and the defense. They were 8-3 up at the first technical time-out. Booming Italian serves prevented Belguim playing the way they like. By the second time-out Italy was out of Belgium's reach with a 16-7 lead. After the technical time-out, Italy maintained the superority in attack and defence and they won the set, 25-12. 



In final set, Italy continued their strategy of aggresive service. Belgium responed with good blocking making the match more balanced. In the end it was today's top scorer, Egonu, who led Italy in attack and took them to a 25-21 win in the third set.
