Thailand hope for second Grand Prix win against USA in history

 

Ningbo, China, June 11, 2016 - Thailand are looking for their only second FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix victory in 16 games against USA as the two sides meet in China for the 2016 edition of the competition.

Head-to-Head
• United States have won 14 of their 15 World Grand Prix matches against Thailand.
• Thailand's only win over United States came back on 16 August 2009, 3-2 (19-25, 25-20, 25-21, 23-25, 15-11).
• United States have lost only one of their last nine World Grand Prix matches against AVC opposition, the 3-2 loss to China on 18 July 2015.

United States
• United States have won 14 of their 15 World Grand Prix matches since the start of the 2015 World Grand Prix, only losing against China (3-2).
• They can win four successive World Grand Prix matches in straight sets for the first time since 2012.
• United States are now on an 11-match winning streak in their last four major competitions - 2015 World Cup, 2015 NORCECA Championships, 2016 NORCECA Olympic Qualification Tournament and the 2016 World Grand Prix.
• Kelsey Robinson was United States' top scorer in their 3-0 win against Germany with 11 points. Four of her teammates also scored 8+ points.

Thailand
• Thailand could lose their first two matches of a World Grand Prix campaign for the first time since 2013.
• Thailand's defeat to China ended a winning run of three matches in major competitions.
• Ajcharaporn Kongyot scored 15 of Thailand's attacking points and 17 points in total in the 3-0 defeat against China.
