Miriam Sylla scored 20 points

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, June 10, 2016 – Italy recovered from the defeat in the first match to beat Serbia in four sets (25-16, 25-19, 29-31, 25-17). The young talented wing spiker Miriam Sylla scored 20 times in a masterpiece performance.

Marco Bonitta, Italy, Coach
- “It was a good technical match. At the first set we had a lot of problems with our reception and our transition to
attack. We come back to play well at the fourth set and we are very happy with the victory. The next match will be different of the first two because Japan
has a very quick game and have a strong defense. We need to be patience to play with them”

Miriam Sylla, Italy, Wing Spier – “We did a good job on court today,
but we had some difficulties at the third set. This victory proved that we are able to be equal to any team, yesterday when we were switching position with
Brazil. We proved that we could do a good game. I am very happy with my performance tonight, but there is always more room to improvements”

Aleksan Vladisavljec, Serbia, Coach – “We did not start the game
well, when I tested some players that were on court against Japan.
I did some changes that worked on the third set. Unfortunately we did not keep the rhythm during the fourth set and we let Italy win”.
