Serbian form or Belgian brilliance?

 

Macau, China, June 18, 2016 – Serbia have the form coming into this match having beaten Belgium on the last two occasions in major tournaments.

Head-to-Head
· This will be the first encounter between Belgium and Serbia at the World Grand Prix.
· Serbia have won six of their seven matches against Belgium at major tournaments, with Belgium's win coming in the match for third place at the 2013 European Championships.
· They last met in 2015 when Serbia won 3-2 in the quarterfinals of the European Games and 3-1 in the quarterfinals of the European Championship.

Belgium
· Belgium hope to win their first World Grand Prix match since a 3-0 win against Russia on 18 July 2015.
· They have lost their last five matches since that win.
· Belgium's last win a competitive match was against Poland (3-1) in January 2016.
· Lisa Van Hecke (15+16) has scored 31 points for Belgium in the previous two matches this weekend.

Serbia
· Serbia suffered a 3-2 defeat against China, their fourth defeat at the 2016 World Grand Prix.
· Serbia have now played two consecutive five-setters, 3-2 win against Brazil and a 3-2 loss versus China. They could play three five-set-matches in a row for the first time at the World Grand Prix.
· Milena Rasic had eight successful blocks in the match against China.
