Serbia coach Zoran Terzic satisfied to get first win over Brazil

Macau, China, June 17, 2016 - Serbia stun Brazil after coming from two sets down to win 3-2 as Tijana Boskovic scores 30 points to inspire a comeback for the European side, who had never beaten the South Americans in the World Grand Prix.

Brazil captain Fabiana Claudino: “We started the game well, but unfortunately we made more errors as the game proceeded and could not keep up with their performance until the end of the match.”

Serbia captain Maja Ognjenovic: “Today is an important day for us because we achieved our first ever win against Brazil.  We are still not playing as great as we like, but we should be happy because we won so I hope we can play better and better as the tournament goes on.  Congratulations also to Brazil for putting up a good fight.  Today we played many long rallies and nice points and we have learnt a lot from the match.”

Brazil coach José Guimarães:
“Congratulations to Serbia for playing so well.  My team need to improve on our serves and blocks.  (Brankica) Mihajlovic scored 26 points, (Tijana) Boskovic scored 30 points and the whole Serbia team played better than we did.”

Serbia coach Zoran Terzic: “I would like to congratulate both teams for such an amazing game.  Today we played a lot of interesting points and long rallies, and I think the spectators have really enjoyed this game.  As Maja (Ognjenovic) said, this is an important game for us because in the history of Serbian volleyball this is the first time we won against Brazil.  We are not playing to our full potential yet; nonetheless we should be satisfied about this game.”
