Netherlands pushed us: USA captain Harmotto Dietzen

 

The USA Captain said they hope to meet Netherlands again in the Finals

Hong Kong, China, June 25, 2016 – USA overcame Netherlands 3-1 (25-17, 19-25, 25-17, 25-20) on Saturday in Hong Kong, winning their 22nd of their past 24 FIVB World Grand Prix appearances.  

Christa Harmotto Dietzen, USA, captain: "It was a great match and Netherlands pushed us in different areas. We treasure the opportunity to compete against strong teams and hopefully we will meet again in the Finals." 

Karch Kiraly, USA, coach: "It is an honour to play against Netherlands. They have improved a lot especially under such a great coach. It is always exciting to compete against new teams as we can learn and explore one another’s weaknesses. Our players will reflect on the match and the put the information to use in preparing for tomorrow’s match against China."

Maret Balkestein-Grothues, Netherlands, captain: "We have improved and played better than yesterday. USA is a high level, it’s a tough match for us. We will recover quickly and prepare for tomorrow." 

Giovanni Guidetti, Netherlands, coach: "USA is getting better in quality. With good strategies used, we hope our team can improve after this match and become one of the strongest teams. It’s good to have the opportunity to take a video challenge."
