Defending champs look for fifth win

 

Long Beach, USA, June 19, 2016 – USA’s rich run of form will see them go into their match against Turkey as favourites on Sunday.

Head-to-Head
· This will be the seventh encounter between United States and Turkey at the World Grand Prix. Turkey won twice, United States booked four victories including in their last two meetings in 2015 (twice 3-1). 
· United States could win three consecutive matches against Turkey at the World Grand Prix for the first time. 
· Their last meeting at another world level tournament came at the 2014 World Championship. United States won 3-1 and ultimately became world champion. 

United States
· USA have won four of their five matches at this year's World Grand Prix, only losing 3-1 against China.
· Of USA 's last six wins in the competition, five have been in straight sets.
· Kayla Banwarth has a 63% efficiency rate as receiver.
· Kimberly Hill and Karsta Lowe share top scoring honours for USA with 50 points each.

Turkey
· Turkey can win three consecutive matches at a single World Grand Prix for the first time since the start of the 2014 tournament when they beat Japan, USA and Russia.
· After the 3-1 win against Germany, Turkey now have a W5-L5 record in all competitive matches in 2016.
· Polen Uslupehlivan has scored 102 points, including 89 spikes.
· Nursevil Aydinlar has scored 11 aces.
