China hope to extend victory streak in match with winless Belgium

 

Macau, Macao, June 14, 2016 - China are on a winning streak in the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix 2016 and will be looking to extend it as they face winless Belgium on opening day of the Group 1 tournament in Macau.

Head-to-Head
• China won their only previous match against Belgium at the World Grand Prix, 3-1 in 2014.
• The two teams met again in 2014 at the World Championship, where China won 3-0.
• These are the only two encounters between China and Belgium in major competitions this century.

China
• China have started their 2016 World Grand Prix campaign with three wins. They won their first nine matches in 2015.
• China have won their last 11 matches at major tournaments.
• Ting Zhu leads China in scoring, 48 points at the 2016 World Grand Prix.
• Xunli Xu and Russia's Irina Zaryazhko have scored 11 points from blocks, most of all players in Group 1.

Belgium
• Belgium have yet to win a match at this World Grand Prix after three defeats.
• They claimed their first set in their third group match against Netherlands on 12 June (3-1 defeat).
• Britt Herbots has scored a team-high 29 points at the 2016 World Grand Prix.
• Charlotte Leys has served four aces.
