Belgium's Charlotte Leys aims to claim a victory the upcoming weekend

Kaliningrad, Russia, June 12, 2016 - Despite three losses, captain of Belgium, Charlotte Leys is optimistic ahead of the upcoming weekend. The player was satisfied with her team's performance today, even though Belgium claimed only one set against Netherlands. The Yellow Tigers are aiming to secure their first victory next week.

Giovanni Guidetti, coach of Netherlands: "Yesterday I said that we are making too many unforced mistakes and I can't say the situation was better today. All in all that is clear state of things and we have nothing to do with that. We didn’t have a single training in Netherlands before the tournament, because of the tight international schedule. So now we are far from best conditions, but it is normal at this stage."

Gert Van de Broek, coach of Belgium: "We have got a good experience today and this is important because we need it. We won only one set, but we played with Netherlands, who will compete at the Olympic Games. They are a great team and we keep improving. Now we'll go to China to play three difficult matches and we have to be ready to try to take some points to stay in the league. It is our ambition. But the first goal is to improve our play that what we showed today."

Yvon Belien, middle blocker of Netherlands: "We started really focused as we know the Belgium team pretty well. But in the third set they were really fired up to win. Then we found our focus again and luckily managed to end the game in fourth set."

Charlotte Leys, captain of Belgium: "I am happy today that we won one set. We fought harder today. This is our game and we will try to keep this level higher. We lost, but we are getting better and better during this tournament. I think that next week we will win one game."
