Thailand coach Sriwacharamaytakul: It was a tough match

Thailand celebrate their victory

Bari, Italy, June 20, 2016 - Thailand defeated Italy 3-2 (25-20, 23-25, 25-23, 19-25, 15-11) in Pool F1 in Bari, Italy on Monday to claim their second victory in the 2016 edition of the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix.

Italy libero Immacolata Sirressi said:
"The more the game kept on, the better Thailand reacted. They played with their regular team, we didn't because of some injuries to our players. We had an insecure start with some errors. The time of the match did affect our performance, more crowd could give more support. Being in the national side is amazing, now we'll focus on our next weekend match in Turkey. We wish we could get better results".

Thailand coach Danai Sriwacharamaytakul:
"It was a tough match, Nootsara's injury in the first set did affect the game. Such a warm welcome was unexpected to us here in Italy. Next week we will be facing further difficult matches in Japan. We'll try our utmost to keep on this positive trend. The time of the match was not a problem today. We were in shape, we did perform well and clinch a victory despite fatigue from a very intense weekend. We'll play the Final 6 as hosts but every week is important to us. We aim to do our utmost."
