Seventy-four points increase Leyva's lead in Group 3

Lausanne, Switzerland, June 15, 2016 - Peru's Angela Leyva increased her total to 144 points scored in FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix Group 3 last weekend after claiming 20 points against Algeria, 28 against Cuba and 26 against Croatia.

Leyva was also the top scorer in Group 3 in week one with 70 points, including 31 against Kazakhstan, 23 against Mexico and 16 against Algeria. Her remarkable run in this year's World Grand Prix helped Peru to three wins in Pool A3 in week 1 and another three wins in Pool D3 in week 2. As a result, Peru go into the Group 3 semifinals in Almaty, Kazakhstan on Saturday undefeated. They will play Croatia, who have won five matches and lost one.

Leyva also topped the best scorers' table in World Grand Prix Group 3 in 2015 with 137 points. Peru went on to defeat Colombia in the semifinals before losing to Kenya in the Group 3 final.

The Group 3 Final Four tournament includes the top three of the combined standings from the Group 3 Preliminary Round plus the Final Four hosts. Joining hosts Kazakhstan in this year's Final Four are Peru, Croatia and Colombia.
