Marichev - New tactics paid off with a victory

Russia celebrates the victory over Netherlands

Bari, Italy, June 17, 2016 - After a straight sets victory over Netherlands, Russia's coach Yury Marichev admits that new tactics were the key to defeat the Dutch team.

Yury Marichev, coach of Russia: "Today we played better with less faults. We tried new tactics and they worked. We are going to do the same at the Olympics. A victory means always great satisfaction to me".

Maret Balkestein-Grothues, captain of Netherlands: "We sensed the defeat at the end of the second set won by Russia 25-23. Unfortunately we got a free ball and we lost it. We still keep on working out it is always challenging competing with such opponent of a great quality."
