Bronze press conference: talking about Peru - Colombia

Almaty, Kazakhstan, June 19, 2016 – Peru bested Colombia in a spectacular five-setter (25-17, 21-25, 25-22, 23-25, 15-6) at the Baluan Sholak Sports Palace on Sunday, to grab the bronze for Group 3 of the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix.

Mauro Marasciulo, coach of Peru
: “It was a South American classic. We had a very good game, and so did Colombia. We are happy that Angela (Leyva) had a great game, and overall, I can say that she had a great tournament. The tie-break is always difficult, but today, our fifth set was nearly perfect.”

Mirtha Uribe, captain of Peru
: “We are happy to win third place. It was a difficult game for us. Of course, we wanted to go the finals but we will try to make it next year.”

Eduardo Guillaume, coach of Colombia
: ”I would have wanted to win. It was a good match with lot of good plays and good defence. But it's just a shame to lose the fifth set.”

Maria Alejandra Marin, captain of Colombia
: “Congratulations to Peru. We knew it was going to be a tough match. We did not play well in the tie-break and it's a shame we could not win. We have another tournament to look forward to and we would like to improve.”
