Kenya land in Argentina to start World Grand Prix countdown

 

Kenya are in Group 2 for the first time after winning Group 3 in 2015

Buenos Aires, Argentina, May 26, 2016 – Kenya’s women’s team have stepped up their preparations for the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix by arriving in Argentina for a one-week training camp and a friendly match against Argentina.

Coach David Lungaho’s team are competing in Group Two after they won the Group 3 title in 2015. It was their second year competing in the World Grand Prix and earned the east African side a place in Group 2. 

Kenya will start their World Grand Prix campaign against Argentina in Tucuman on June 3 and they then face Bulgaria and the Dominican Republic over the following two days. 

The Group 2 Finals take place in Plovdiv, Bulgaria on June 18 and 19. 

For the moment they are training in the Argentine capital before they fly to Tucuman on May 28. 

“We have been received well here in Buenos Aires by the Argentine Volleyball Federation officials and we hope to use this time to recover well and prepare adequately for the task ahead.” team manager Martin Kimondo said.
