China coach Lang Ping encouraged by team's performance

China team is buoyed by the straight set win over Brazil before the Olympics

Macau, China, June 19, 2016 - China's Fangxu Yang top scored on Sunday as China wrapped up the second weekend of 2016 FIVB World Grand Prix beating Brazil 3-0 (25-23, 25-16, 25-20) in the FIVB volleyball World Grand Prix in Macau.

Lang Ping, coach of China: Our blocking was better today and overall our serves have been reliable throughout this weekend. This win against Brazil is a big encouragement for us; my players are working very hard to prepare for the Olympics and I must congratulate them on a great game today. Overall in Macau I feel my players still lack a bit of consistency; our tactical approach and adjustment on court still require improvements. I also think that we need more work on our receives against hard-serving opponents.

Hui Ruoqi, captain of China: It has been a long time since we won against Brazil in the World Grand Prix, and this victory is the fruit of our hard training. We expected a tough game against Brazil today so to win in straight sets is a big surprise for us.  We will prepare thoroughly for the future matches and we need to have more belief in our ability. We hope this win will help to build up our confidence to play even better in the next matches.
