Zhdanova leads Kazakhstan to victory over Algeria

 

Algiers, Algeria, June 4, 2016 - Yekaterina Zhdanova led Kazakhstan to a comfortable 3-0 (25-17, 25-13, 25-5) win over Algeria on the second day of the World Grand Prix Group 3 in Algiers.

Kazakhstan, who beat Peru on the opening day, put in a stellar performance winning 3-0 over host Algeria, who now have two defeats from as many matches, in their second match of the tournament. They dominated the game winning in a very one-sided affair in which Yekaterina Zhdanova starred with some great smashes.




The first set seemed to be heading do Kazakhstan after they managed to establish the advantage from the very beginning and to close it out at 25-17.

The early set two saw Kazakhstan again building up their lead. Not only spikes from Zhdanova, but also some devastating serves from Natalya Akilova proved to be too strong for Algeria who had to accept 13-25 loss.

In set three Kazakhstan raced to a 16-2 lead, evetually to close it out at 25-5 which sealed a 3-0 victory.
