Australia coach Shannon Winzer – “It was a tough day today. We struggled with everything. We didn’t stick to our game plan. We didn’t pass well and that makes it tough. We are a way off Croatia, they can do everything well. The biggest difference between us and the top teams is consistency."
Croatia coach Miroslav Aksentijevic – "I’m so impressed with the level of play we showed here. I started in January, and we have involved a lot more young players. We expect in future Croatian women’s volleyball will become a great team in Europe and in world volleyball."
Australia captain Shae Sloane – “They came out hard and we couldn’t match it with them. We’re happy with parts of our game but obviously not happy with other parts. We’ll move on from it, and hopefully in Colombia we’ll play a little bit better again.”
Croatia captain Mia Jerkov – "We had a great weekend. We performed at a high level. We were humble in our approaches to our games and I think that made the difference. We came through with flying colours.
"We all feel that we don’t belong in second division. I think we feel that we have underperformed for all these years and we belong in first division."
