Colombia need to win two sets to return Kazakhstan the visit

 

Cali, Colombia, June 12, 2016 - Kazakhstan are sure to play at the Group 3 finals in the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix 2016 since they are hosting the event next week, but the hosts of this weekend's tournament in Cali still have a job to do.  If Colombia manage to win two sets against Kazakhstan they can also start packing for Almaty.

Head-to-Head
• Colombia won their only previous World Grand Prix encounter with Kazakhstan in 2015 in straight sets.
• Kazakhstan have lost all previous seven encounters against CSV sides at the World Grand Prix, including a 3-1 defeat versus Peru at this year's edition.

Colombia
• Colombia have won their last two World Grand Prix matches in Cali, versus Mexico (3-0) and Australia (3-0).
• They could win three consecutive matches in straight sets for the second time, after they defeated Kenya, Peru and Kazakhstan by a 3-0 scoreline in last year's edition. 
• Colombia could win three World Grand Prix matches in a row for the first time since their run of four in 2015. 
• Only Peru's Angela Leyva (118) and Croatia's Samanta Fabris (82) have scored more points in Group 3 of the 2016 World Grand Prix than Madelaynne Montaño (70) and Moreno Pino Kenny (65). 

Kazakhstan
• Kazakhstan are on their longest winning streak at the World Grand Prix, as they won their last four matches. 
• In Cali, they already defeated Australia (3-0) and Mexico (3-1). 
• Radmila Beresneva scored a team-high 61 points at this tournament, including a match-high 22 points in Kazakhstan's 3-1 win over Mexico. 
• Irini Lukomskaya is the best setter in Group 3 this year, as she has had an average of 6.50 per set.
