Cali, Colombia, June, 10, 2016 - Colombia ended their losing streak by beating Mexico 3-0 (25-19, 25-10, 25-18) in the World Grand Prix, with Kenny Moreno scoring a game-high 17 points to serve Mexico their third successive loss.
Bibiana Candelas opened the game with a good performance to push Mexico ahead. Nevertheless, some mistakes gave control to Colombia, who had Madelaynne Montano and Kenny Moreno in fine form. An ace from Amanda Coneo allowed Colombia to close out the first set 25-19.Montano was brilliant and was working her way to become the game's most prolific attacker, helping the home side overpower Mexico, despite the best efforts of Lizbeth Sainz. Moreno once again shone as Colombia took the second 25-10.
Although 2-0 down, Mexico kept pushing with good work from captain Dulce Carranza unti Moreno once again imposed herself on the contest. Her powerful spikes and play lead Colombia to a six point gap which couldn't be overcome and Colombia won the match 3-0.
