Waibl: Bulgaria's experience made the difference

Bulgaria's Petya Barakova sets the ball

Olomouc, Czech Republic, June 11, 2016 - After losing to Bulgaria in straight sets, Czech Republic decreases its chances to qualify to Group 2 Final Four in Plovdiv. Coach Alexander Waibl sees Bulgarians experience as the key to their defeat over his team.

Antonina Zetova, assistant coach of Bulgaria: We gave a good performance after yesterday's loss, when we didn't play that well. Czech team has very young and strong squad, we knew that it will be difficult match for us. We played step by step and improved our performance.

Alexander Waibl, coach of Czech Republic: First two sets were held by Bulgarian team, because they played very aggressively at the net, while we became very passive in our game. We were able to find back the focus that helped us to open the match so well and won third set. In the end the experience of Bulgarian players decided on the result.

Eva Yaneva, captain of Bulgaria: It was a good match today, a lot of good plays between the teams. Congratulations to Czech Republic for a great performance and their play in defence. They made it tough for us to make a come back.

Tereza Rossi, captain of Czech Republic: We fought a lot and it was obvious that Bulgarian team was well prepared against us. They played much more better than yesterday.
