Poland looking to continue winning streak against Canada

 

Zielona Gora, Poland, June 3, 2016 - Poland will try to please the home crowd in Zielona Gora by continuing their winning streak against Canada in the day's second match of the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix 2016 tournament they are hosting.

Head-to-Head
• Poland are unbeaten in their five matches against Canada at major tournaments.
• Their last three encounters came in Group 2 at the 2014 and 2015 World Grand Prix, with Poland winning these encounters all by a 3-1 score.
• Poland lost only one of their four World Grand Prix matches against NORCECA sides in 2015: against Puerto Rico (3-1).
• Canada faced European teams four times at the 2015 World Grand Prix and recorded one win: 3-2 against Bulgaria.

Poland
• This will be Poland's 13th campaign in the World Grand Prix. Their best finish was sixth in 2007 and 2010.
• Last year, Poland's final rank was 14th, after losing the final of the Group 2 Final Four against Netherlands (3-0).
• Anna Grejman was Poland's top scorer at the 2015 World Grand Prix with 88 points.
• In 2015, Poland won 12 competitive matches, most wins for them since they won 15 in 2010.
 
Canada
• Canada will play in their fourth World Grand Prix after 2003, 2014 and 2015.
• Their final rank in 2015 was 18th after a sixth-place finish in Group 2.
• Tabitha Love (104) was Canada's top scorer at the 2015 World Grand Prix.
• Canada hope to end a five-match losing streak, after defeats at the 2015 NORCECA Championships and the NORCECA Olympic Qualification tournament in January 2016.
