Orduna: Staying focused is what matters when technical side fails

For Coach Guillermo Orduna (ARG) the last game in Włocławek was another important point in preparations fro the Olympics.

Wloclawek, Poland, June 12, 2016 - Even though neither team could earn a spot in the Final Four, both Argentina and Kenya tried to make the most of their last game in Włocławek.

Guillermo Orduna Argentina, coach: "Argentina played well, in the first two sets we made many mistakes in reception, but we stayed focused which is very important when the technical side doesn’t work well. We won three to zero, but we need to improve reception and attack system. And those two elements are very important to work on before the Olympic Games, because we will play against very strong teams like Russia, Brazil, Korea and Japan and it’s important for me and my players."

David Lungaho Kenya, coach: "I think that if Kenya had won the first set, which was very close, this match could have looked different. In the first two sets we really wanted to win, but we didn’t manage to do it. We are happy with our performance here, we scored many points against Argentina and it is a very good sign. The level of those teams was too high for us. After our matches here we know we have a big homework to do and we will do it when we come back to Kenya."

Emilce Sosa Argentina, captain: "This match wasn’t very good for us. However, we are very happy, because of this victory. We need to play better and improve some elements, because the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro are in few weeks and we will play there against really strong opposition."

Jannet Wanja, Kenya, player: "We started pretty well, but Argentina is a very good team. We knew that it wouldn't be an easy match and what to expect from them. Any game in Wloclawek wasn't easy for us. We played not bad in reception, we knew how to kill successfully, but the score was as it was. I cannot say we are satisfied with the result in this tournament. We didn't win a single set, didn't show our best, but we will try to walk on with that."
