Kwiek: Good serving led us to victory

 

Dominican Republic's Niverka Marte sets the ball

Olomouc, Czech Republic, June 10, 2016 - Dominican Republic coach Marcos Kwiek said it was the concentration and good serve that brought team back to secure the straight set win over Canada. Three points were important for the team to win, as they are aiming to reach Group 2 Final Four.

Marcos Kwiek, coach of Dominican RepublicWe know each other very well with team Canada because we played with them often in NORCECA competitions. Our matches are not easy ones. We produced unforced mistakes today, but after we got back our concentration and started serving better we were able to win. 

Arnd Ludwig, coach of Canada: We played bit better than yesterday, but it is difficult to play against the team like Dominican Republic. In the end we are here to learn and we have learnt a lot today.

Bethania De La Cruz, captain of Dominican Republic: It was not easy match, but really important for us, we needed to win three points to raise our chances to get to Final Four.

Lucille Charuk, captain of Canada: We played this team so many times. We played pretty solid and we showed pretty good game.
