Italy, who have two wins and a defeat to their name after last week's first weekend, started out well with Miriam Fatime Sylla leading the way with eight points as the hosts overcame Thailand posting a 25-10 first set win. Thailand have a one-win, two-loss record after three matches.

In accordance to rule 17.3.3, the official postponement was declared after more than an hour as technicians were resigned to not being able to resolve the lighting problem within four hours.

The crowd were still entertained during the delay however as both teams impressed them with their dancing skills in an effort to not lose their match condition.

The date and time for the match to be played again will be announced on Saturday morning.
