Harmotto Dietzen: Service and passing were key

USA captain Christa Harmotto Dietzen: our serving pressure was very strong and we passed well. These are the two key things that led to our victory.

Hong Kong, China, June 24, 2016 – The USA stormed to a straight-set victory  (25-19, 25-21, 25-17) over China at the Hong Kong Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

China coach Lang Ping: Our objective in the World Grand Prix is to train and improve our players. We regret we did not play an exciting game today. USA’s serves damaged our momentum and they were too fast for us to cope with. It is a great learning opportunity. Our players are young and cannot handle challenges at ease due to lack of experience. Congratulations to the USA team!

China Captain Hui Ruoqi: Congratulations to USA. We experienced a lot of difficulties today, especially we had a tough time in receiving. Compared to last match with the USA, their serve and receive have improved a lot. We have learnt a lot from this match and we will evaluate and look for a better solution for the next match.

USA coach Karch Kiraly: It was a wonderful opportunity to step on the court with a great team and a great coach. Two weeks ago China gave us tremendous serving pressure and today we gave them same thing likewise. Every match has different fascinating things that China and our American team can learn.

USA captain Christa Harmotto Dietzen: I agree with what the Chinese Captain said, our serving pressure was very strong and we passed well. These are the two key things that led to our victory. We learn a lot every time we play against China. We look forward to the next game with them in Bangkok.
