Slöetjes scores 17 points in a quick win over Thailand

 

Lonneke Slöetjes scored 17 points on Saturday

Bari, Italy, June 19, 2016 – The Netherlands recorded their second win in a row this weekend with a quick 3-0 (25-19, 25-16, 25-19) over Thailand on Saturday. 

Lonneke Slöetjes set the tone for ther team with 17 points. Thailand's Kongyot Ajcharaporn was not far behind, scoring 15 points. Guidetti's side closes action in Pool F1 earning 6 points. 



The European side started off strongly with dominant presence in attack and raced out to a 17-13 lead. Slöetjes was relentless in attack taking the Netherlands to a 25-19 win in the opener. 



The second set saw the Netherlands grab a three-point lead at the first technical time-out and controlling the situation afterwards. Setter Laura Dijkema distributed the ball well to lead her team to a 25-16 victory in the set. 

The last set meant more of the same as Thailand never looked ready to stop Slöetjes' booming attacks. The Netherlands seemed cooly in control taking the set, 25-19, and finishing the weekend with a straighforward win.
