It was an important game for us, says coach Guimarães

Brazil team celebrate

Ankara, Turkey, June 24, 2016 - Natalia Pereira contributed to Brazil's victory over Italy 3-1 (24-16, 25-22, 25-13, 25-22) scoring 17 points at the FIVB World Grand Prix match on Friday.

José Roberto Guimarães, coach of Brazil: It was an important game for our team. We played against a strong team that will be in the Olympic Games. I think that our block and deffense worked better today. Also I am happy because we played like a team and the players that came from the bench played well.

Marco Bonitta, coach of Italy: It was a really tought game. We made easy mistakes in the defence and attack. It's not easy to play against Brazil. They push you to make mistakes. But I am satisfied with my teams way of play in most part of the match. We'll try our best for the rest of the group matches.

Natália, Brazil: I am happy with the way that we played in the fourth set. I know that we still have a lot to improve but we are in the right way.

Antonella Del Core, captain of Italy: We tried our best. We made some simple mistakes and it was hard to fix it for us. Brazil is a really good team. We'll took out some lessons from this game and try to win our other group games.
